Pathways to a great career from secondary school
During Senior Schooling (year 10, 11 and 12) you can:
- Sign-up for a School-based traineeship or apprenticeship and earn while learning at school. You can then take a position in the industry as a full-time apprentice after school is finished.
- Complete a Senior Phase of Learning Program with TAFE. These programs are one-day of the week out of your usual school timetable. Contact your school VET Coordinator or Guidance Officer for details.
After grade 12 you can:
- Apply for a Diploma Program at TAFE, which will get you credit to continue study at University should you wish or you can enter the workforce directly after completing a Diploma program.
- Go straight to university, then do a certificate course to get the hands-on skills you need for the workplace
- Enrol in a Certificate III Program at TAFE, go to work or go to university for further study.
- Take on an apprenticeship/traineeship and go to work in an appropriate industry while becoming fully qualified on the job.
The choice is yours!
